Greenwich Water Club is looking to hire lifeguards for summer 2024. The summer season will start Memorial Day weekend and runs through Labor Day weekend.

GWC lifeguards are primarily responsible for the health, safety and welfare of members and guests using the Clubs swimming pools. Lifeguards also assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the pools, pool decks and surrounding areas, while providing members with a first class experience.

Essential Duties:
a. To supervise the activities of swimmers by enforcing rules and regulations.
b. To warn swimmers of improper activities or hazards.
c. To rescue persons in distress or in danger of drowning when indicated and provide rescue breathing, CPR and First Aid
d. To notify Lifeguard Manager and Director of Aquatics of any accidents, rescues, or problems that arise.
e. To report to the Lifeguard Manager any equipment that is in need of repair.
f. To successfully and positively perform within the team dynamic.
g. Adherence to Club workplace expectations, encompassing communication, working relations, job reliability and initiative, safety, accomplishment of work tasks, and supervision.

Auxiliary Duties:
a. To answer inquiries pertaining to the use of the pool.
b. To conduct water quality tests three times per day.
c. To direct all helpful suggestions from participants and others to the Director of Aquatics.
d. To maintain attendance and activity record and complete required reports.
e. To assist in cleaning and maintaining the pool and related areas and facilities.
f. To serve as ambassador of the Club and engage with the members in a respectful, professional, and positive manner. This includes wearing proper Lifeguard attire and displaying appropriate behavior on duty (e.g., no cell phone use while on duty).
g. To conduct one-on-one swim lessons as assigned by Director of Aquatics.
h. To perform other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Aquatics.

Qualifications: Applicants must be 16 years old and current on the following certifications: Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid. Applicants must also be responsible, timely, member service oriented and self-motivated.
