The role of the Pool Director involves managing the day-to-day operations of the pool and its facility. This includes overseeing teams, lessons, events, and staffing. The Pool Director is responsible for hiring, supervising, and evaluating the aquatics staff, ensuring safety, providing training, creating seasonal work schedules, managing weekly payroll, and working within the departmental budget. Additionally, they are responsible for maintaining the proper chemical balance of the pool(s) and ensuring cleanliness in the pool, snack bar areas, and restrooms on a daily basis.

The Pool Director is responsible for managing communication between the pool and its members, as well as handling pool-related billing. They should have knowledge of POS systems for pool purchases and billing. The job requires maintaining accurate records of pool attendance, chemical levels, accident reports, and other necessary paperwork. This is an essential part of the role and helps ensure the smooth functioning of the pool.

The position entails organizing and overseeing social activities related to the pool for members. This includes communicating and interacting with members and their guests, which requires a friendly and outgoing personality and excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ideal candidate should be willing to contribute to fostering a positive team atmosphere and providing our members with a high level of service.

The ideal candidate should have at least three years of experience in a similar role at a private club, resort, or high-volume pool. Prospective candidates must be available from May to September, including pre-opening, evenings, and weekends as needed. The Pool Director is responsible for overseeing the seasonal opening and closing of the pool.

Additionally, the candidate must hold the following certifications: Pool Operations (CPO) and Lifeguard Certified (CPR/AED & First Aid). Possessing a lifeguard instructor and Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification will be considered a plus.

Compensation is competitive based on qualifications and experience and includes bonus pay and daily meals.
