Shorehaven Pool Director Job Description.

Position: Full time Aquatics professional for the summer season. The summer season runs from Memorial Day until Labor Day. The Pool Director will be required to be onsite prior to the start of the season as necessary to ensure the pools, staff and programs are ready to start the season. Also onsite after the season to close down the facility.
General Managerial Responsibilities: The Pool Director oversees and coordinates the activities and performance of the clubs pool staff and the operation of the swimming pools. The Pool Director manages and oversees the swim and diving coaches and related programs and competitions. The Pool Director will oversee the opening and closing of the pools in combination with the outside pool maintenance company contracted by the club. The Pool Director reports to the General Manager and coordinates pool area activities with the Pool Committee Chairperson and the Chairperson of the Athletic Committee.
Job Description:
• Responsible for meeting the standards of the club as defined by the General and Assistant Managers and the Pool Committee.
• Hires, trains and supervises the lifeguards.
• Ensures enforcement of rules, regulations, dress code and sanitation.
• Responsible for opening and closing checklist, guard rotations and breaks.
• Ensures the staff is always attentive to watching the pool, members and guests.
• Oversees the pool sign in attendance sheet, lessons and billing.
• Oversees and orders chemicals and monitors and oversees maintenance of the pools filtration systems and water P.H. chemistry.
• Maintains and keeps all records including accident reports and daily pool operations including first aid preparedness.
• Oversees and assists staff to keep all locker rooms clean and trash removed.
• Oversees and cares for the pool equipment and storage area.
• Works with the Camp Director during the summer Kids Camp season.
Education/Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years’ experience managing pools and staff, strong professional interpersonal and communication skills. Certification in first aid, CPR, AED, water safety instructor.
A degree in physical education or recreation administration is highly beneficial.
Certification as an Aquatic Facility Operator is a plus.
Salary is based on experience and qualifications.
